<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="5" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>You can insert hyperlinks in two ways: as text or as a button. In both cases, the visible text can be different from the URL.</p>

<p class="P2"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="7" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Display the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> Bar by choosing <span class="T1">View - Toolbars - Hyperlink Bar</span>. Type the visible text in the left field and the full URL in the right field, including http:// or file://.</p>

<p class="P2"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="8" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Place the text cursor in the document at the point where you want to insert the hyperlink. Click the<span class="T1"> Hyperlink</span> <text:s text:c="" xmlns:text="http://openoffice.org/2000/text"/>icon on the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> Bar, or click <span class="T1">Accept</span> in the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> dialog. The hyperlink is inserted as text.</p>

<p class="P2"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="31" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>If you want to insert the hyperlink as a button, click and hold the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> icon and select <span class="T1">As Button</span> from the sub-menu, or select <span class="T1">Button</span> from the<span class="T1"> Form list </span>in the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> dialog.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="30" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>If you would rather use the <help:link Id="65963" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">Hyperlink dialog</help:link> instead of the <span class="T1">Hyperlink</span> Bar to define the hyperlink, you can open it using the icon on the <span class="T1">Function</span> Bar.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="23" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>If you wish to jump to a specific position in the same text document, enter a bookmark at that position (<span class="T1">Insert - Bookmark</span>). If you wish to branch out to a cell in a table, enter a name for the cell (<span class="T1">Insert - Names - Define</span>).</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="32" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>In the <span class="T1">URL</span> combo box, enter only the short form of the URL when jumping within the same document: If the bookmark is called <span class="T1">Target</span>, enter <span class="T1">Target</span>. To jump to another document, enter the complete URL.</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="24" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Hyperlinks can also be inserted by drag-and-drop from the Navigator. Hyperlinks can refer to references, headings, graphics, tables, objects, directories or bookmarks.</p>

<p class="P3"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="34" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>If you wish to insert in a text a hyperlink that refers to Table 1, drag the entry Table 1 from the Navigator and drop it in the text. To do this, the <span class="T1">Insert as Hyperlink</span> drag mode must be selected in the Navigator.</p>
